Sorry. I am going to get him to buy the marriage cert as we are at a dead end already.
He failed to tell me his grandfather died abroad after he disappeared and believes he went to Australia. Which was not helpful.
Thanks for the help so far. :-)

If this is his death, it then looks like ErikaH has found the correct birth

Thanks, I will take a look at your thread.
The son Raymond is my colleagues father.
I did find that entry in the 1939 record.

Get a copy of the marriage certificate for his declared age and his father’s name and occupation - if he knew him.
When did he die?
Try freebmd for a birth - then look for one for Raymond with same MMN

Such recent service records are NOT online. they have to be purchased at a cost of £30.00, plus a possible requirement for a copy death cert

HI All
I am doing some research for a colleague who wants to find out more about his grandfather George T Green. What we know he is was in the Army for a long time but i cant find him on Ancestry Military records. I have on Forces Website but just gives me information on what i know, no DOB or family details. His Army number is 884994 so if anyone can locate a link to these records then please do.
This is his marriage
Name: George T Green Registration Date: Jan 1942 [Feb 1942] [Mar 1942] Registration Quarter: Jan-Feb-Mar Registration district: Peterborough Inferred County: Huntingdonshire Spouse: Florence Ward Volume Number: 3b Page Number: 804
He is said to have a brother called Raymond Green.
There is supposedly a link to Winchester
We dont have much more than this to go on. But any help would be appreciated.
