That’s something else we have been trying to find out, we don’t know.

As far as we can be sure that is the right death.

ArgyllGran Report 21 Aug 2020 17:31

If you've found the marriages of all the other sisters, presumably he is the husband of either Sarah or Margaret - if it's the right death.

We have found them all, and are in touch with all their descendants, we asked them last night via Facebook if anyone knew the name Jameson and they don’t.

We are as sure as sure that there are not any missing siblings.

Deborah

Deborah Report 21 Aug 2020 17:46

The other female siblings, Annie married a Campbell, Mary a Lynn, Ellen Jane a Gittins, Martha a Burke/Bourke and Matilda a Sinclair.

Would you kindly just have one last look for me please ( I have already looked again today) just in case I have missed something, then I will put this one on the back burner for now.

A marriage of either Sarah McManus White or Margaret White to a Jamieson/Jamison/Jameson, initial possibly K, probably but not definitely in Ireland, slight possibility in the UK.

Thank you so much, and then I will put this one to one side.

Looked yesterday, and couldn't see anything.
Just the same today, I'm afraid!

Definitely nothing in England/Wales/Scotland 1901-40.
Nor on irishgenealogy.ie

I appreciate all your help, will put it to one side now.

Thank you.

Would you be kind enough to cast another set of eyes on something for me please. I know this post was about Sarah and Margaret, which I have put to one side for the time being.

There was another sibling of Sarah and Margaret, her name was Annie Campbell nee White. She was the second wife of James Campbell 1866, they are in the 1901 census for 52 Emerson Street,Antrim posted at 16.42 on 21st August, and the 1911 census for 5 Howe Street, posted at the same time and the same date.

James had 3 children with his first wife Sarah Adams who he married in Belfast 22nd March 1886. Isabella Hannah 3 May 1890, Maggie Craig 13 Apr 1892 and Sarah who died, 5 days old on the same date as her mother on 15 July 1894.

He went on to have another 9 children with his 2nd wife Annie. James 29 Apr 1896, Annie 12 Jan 1898,John 31 Aug 1900, Sarah Josephine 21 Jan 1903,William 4 Nov 1904,David Eric 1 Dec 1907, Ruth Kathleen 23 Aug 1910 and Matilda 4 Sep 1913.

The 9th child is my query, she is listed as Mable/Mabel in the 1901 census, 3 months old, and then 16 years old in 1911.

She could not be 3 months old when the census was done on 31 March 1901 if John was born 31st Aug 1900.

I have been unable to find her birth record anywhere, have searched, Ancestry FMP, Irish Genealogy, National Archives, Family search and other peoples trees etc.

There is a Mabel Campbell 1889 volume 1, page 305, but the parents are Matthew and Isabell Campbell, there is also a Mabel Campbell 1899 volume 1, page 416, the parents are James Campbell and Jane (nee Bell), these were the only 2 possibilities I can find, but not the one I am looking for.

I would be really grateful if you could look to see if I have missed something, please don't spend time on any of the others, its just Mabel, so I can finish this part of my tree. (hopefully).

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 25 Aug 2020 17:30

Mabel is actually listed as 6 months old in 1901.

In 1911 she's Mabel White Campbell, 16.
It'll just be a mistake by the enumerator.

The children Annie and John's ages don't match either.
In 1901: Annie 5, John 3.
!n 1911: Annie 13, John 10

And John was actually born in August 1900 , so the 1901 census is way out.

However, I don't see Mabel's birth, even if her first name was something else at birth.

Deborah

Deborah Report 25 Aug 2020 17:41

I know, the whole census is a shambles, thank you for looking anyway ArgyllGran.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 25 Aug 2020 17:43

Aha!
Could she be the daughter of James & Annie's daughter Maggie ?

SR District/Reg Area - Belfast
Birth of MABEL PERCIVAL on 04 August 1900
Name MABEL PERCIVAL
Date of Birth 04 August 1900
Group Registration ID 112355
SR District/Reg Area Belfast
Sex Female
Mother's Birth Surname CAMPBELL

Mabel Waring Percival.
Father: Edward Stanley Waring Percival, 67 Gt Victoria Street.
Mother: Maggie Percival, formerly Campbell.

I don't see the parents' marriage.

There's a marriage in 1891 in Belfast of an Edward Stanley Percival, widower, to a Maggie Quinn, spinster - but that's obviously not the marriage to Maggie Campbell.

EDIT:
No, of course not!
Maggie Campbell was only 8 in 1901 !

ArgyllGran Report 25 Aug 2020 17:55

No, Maggie was only 8 on 1901.

Just seen it, that's a pity, it was looking feasible for a moment.

Deborah

Deborah Report 25 Aug 2020 18:04

Its making me wonder if there was another daughter from the first marriage now, before Isabella Hannah.

I am adding to this thread because it is a branch of the same family but not connected.

I am trying to prove a marriage of one of my ancestors John Hanley White to an Eleanor Davies, June quarter 1903, West Derby. 8b 959. Other names on page, Louisa Bower and Thomas George Speed.

I am just wanting to confirm that John Hanley White 1882 (mmn Hanley) Liverpool, who died 28 April 1907, Rainhill Asylum, Lancashire, married Eleanor Davies.

I tried to find marriage banns to see if they showed more info for me to cross reference but could find them.

What I did find was the 1911 census for an Eleanor White and in brackets (Eleanor Davies) stated as a widow, dressmaker, living with her parents John and Elizabeth Davies, and 2 sisters Alice and Annie Davies, at 18 Saxonia Road, Walton on the Hill, Liverpool.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look for the ‘other’ couple in 1911, or births to the other couple on the GRO website…..free to all.

Alternatively, purchase a copy of the marriage cert
