On the picture Nellie was tall and slim so is Hilda and someone wrote Hilda Atkinson could not be a sister. Yes my grandma Elsie was married in 1922 How did she have a house like that if she was not married

Might Hilda have been a niece ?
Just a suggestion, as I see that Nellie had a brother Peter:

How do you know that Hilda Atkinson is Nellie's daughter?
Are you just assuming that from the inscription on the photo, or do you have proof?
What year do you think the photo might have been taken?

My Aunty Nellie was my Grandma Elsie sister and I never saw her till I was a young teenager and she had moved to Blackpool. I went with my Grandad Albert Whalley Riley 1890 for a few mid week holidays in 1962, 63 and 64. Elsie my grandma died in 1961 Nellie lived at 20 Gorton Ave FX4 2JW Blackpool a very smart semi What I remember was there was no chap in the house but another lady lived in the back room and I called her aunty Maggie but she was not my relative. There was also lots of model planes made out of wood which had been varnished brown and they hung from the ceiling in the bedroom and outhouse I was not allowed to touch them but they were all fighter jets like spitfires. I have a picture on my Aunty Nellie with her daughter who looks about 13 at the end of the pier in Blackpool and someone has wrote in pencil at the back Great Aunty Nellie and Hilda Atkinson which is strange that she is referred to Atkinson her maiden name. Also a young lady used to call at the house from school who was a couple of years older then me and she was obsessed with Cilla Black and had a Cilla haircut and my grandad gave us some money and we went to the pleasure beach together and my grandad and Nellie went went to the pub and went back on the bus together. A number of my relative moved to Blackpool do not know why Ernie Riley grandad brother, James Shorrock Riley who had a car garage there he was the most interesting person on my family tree as he was a wheel wright and `emigrated` to Midlands as part or of car manufacturers and I have him in lodgings with people from Daimler, Rover etc .and lots of pictures with my Aunty Nellie. My grandad when he was in his late 80`sreceived a letter from Nellie to say she had gone blind and was in a nursing home. Sorry about the tale but I cannot find the marriage on my aunty Nellie she must have been married perhaps he was killed during the war. Thanks David hope you can help they were happy times in Blackpool.
