Thank you for all that work It has taken me a few days to cross check things.There are at least 4 Ann/Annie Reed/Read s in the Malton area all born in 1865- 1875. Also I have the relevant one MC in 1901, age 25 father Charles, Shoemaker Old Malton. She is not the one who marries James Wray. Her husband is Henry Osguthorpe. Fatrher Charles marries Mary Clarkson so ArgyllGran has the correct census records and marriage. The problem is my AR age - MC -25; 1901 - 27, 1911 - 38. but DC 1942 -71! As her husband was "10 years older" than her in all the above why lie about age?
BUT I think you cracked it with that 1871 census. Thank you very much.

Annie's DOB stated in 1939 would fit Hannah's birth, although a year out.

That sounds like the answer as to why Annie/Hannah was convinced her birth was around 1871/2. I thought it was strange.


Did Hannah/Annie have a son Charles Reed no mums maiden name A/M/J 1896 V9d P420 He is with grandparents in 1901 Charles and Mary Reed.
