Find Ancestors

I am trying to trace Richard after 1891 Census when he was a (Private) Soldier in the West Kent Regiment (Infantry) His father was William Deane B1839 and mother Frances Rawlings(Nee Care) On the Marriage of his brother Frederick George Deane in 1898 it said father Richard William Deane (deceased - Pay Sergeant) But didn't mention the name Richard on his birth Certificate. First of all I thought there could have been a mistake and put his brothers name in place of fathers as that is this only time I have heard of Richard William in the family but I think I must be mistaken on that.
I have looked on Ancestry on Public Trees and his name is on there but can't access it as I am not a full Member. Was wondering if anybody could help me with regard to Richard

Of those which mention the parents, some only have his mother's name, with father "unknown" or "Private".

Some say the father was William Deane, some say Richard William (1839-77), but don't provide proof of the name.

Thank you everybody for your help - there is a lot to process and to check with what I have. Already picked up a couple of things one regarding the Father William Richard b1839 - I was never sure of the Middle name.

You still need to get a copy of the 1877 death cert to be sure if that's the right man.

The biography added by a helper on Findagrave says he's Frances's husband, but there's no photo of his gravestone, and the photo of Frances's stone isn't clear enough to see if he's named on it or not.

The death cert says Richard William, but the burial record says William Richard.
Presumably the same person, but we still don't know which is the correct version of his name.

For what it's worth, Richard 1870 was in Cheriton in 1891 - census already posted.

I'm not sure what the wording on the image means, but he seems to have used different versions of his name. "Anthony otherwise Johnson Deane otherwise Anthony William Johnson Deane."

Richard William isn't mentioned on the same tree, but there must be some link, because of all the Cheriton burials..

I am sorry I have been late in replying haven't had much chance. Have looked through everything and a few things to check.The last ones have been interesting must look to see if they are anything to do with my family as I have a lot of Deane's on my tree
So appreciative of what you have done for me I didn't expect so much
I knew there was another child born to William & Frances with the name Henry but couldn't find anything, thank you for that.
Also I wondered if you could just look one other thing up for me with regards to James Henry Frederick Deane 1908-1977 and wife Lily May Herridge. I think my husband had a brother 1931-1931 Edwin J Deane Bedwelty 11a 124 birth and 11a 94 death - I have the mother as a Herridge but wondered if it said anything else about the parents so I know for sure.
