hi all,been trying to search info on leonids politis for a friend, I cant seem to find him,he is the biological father of her husband ,only info she gave me is he he was born 17/7/1926 in Athens ,came to uk from Greece as a 3rd officer bound for sunderland in 1953/54,,she said at some point he lived in Grey road sunderland ,married a Iris Marie Taggart possible in Peru or uk about 1960,,i only found a Iris Taggert married to Frederick Bryan ,,she said she could have been called Iris taggart or Iris King when she married Leonids,,she said she thinks her hubbys mum was a bigamist ,I have been looking all day and only found similar name in America,but born in the 1800s ,,has anyone got any info at all please ,so her hubby and his twin can find their biological father,many thanks.regards Sandra

That girl did not marry or die in Scotland.

I'm only posting this because of the similarity of name, and YOB close to that of Leonidas.
I have absolutely no reason to think this is (or isn't) the correct Iris.



Alternative suggestion, again with no proof either way:-

an Iris M Taggart (mms King) was born in 1935 in Sunderland. [NOTE MMS ]

She's probably the one who married Frederick Bryan in Durham RD in 1954.

So not the one you're looking for? Unless she left Frederick to marry Leonidas bigamously in Peru (no such marriage in the UK) in the 1960s, then went back to Frederick?
Doesn't seem very likely - though people are endlessly surprising.
