Hi , my grandmother Marjorie Violet (nee Boggis) Reeve born 1903 at Bury St Edmonds apparently was in London in 1939 - not sure whether her boys were with her, but their details are ;

Hi Erikah - well I'm gobsmacked , thank you very much for your time - You know the 1939 register you mentioned, how come they can indicate Marjorie married Laming way in the future of 1946. All the best with your own search - Lorraine :-)

The 1939 register was updated until around 1980 (I think-not sure of year) as it formed the basis for the issuing of NI numbers

The marriage info was added only for women.

My father married my stepmother in 1949, and the date of their marriage is on her record., along with her ‘new’ surname

The 1939 register also showed Marjorie’s second re-marriage, as you can see from the surnames given for her on the record..
