Elizabeth was the older sister of my paternal grandmother. Their parents were Herbert Henry Grigg b:09/03/1856 Bishops Hull, Taunton Somerset and Laura Jane Gage b:10/01/1860 Taunton, Somerset. They married 17/02/1885 in Edmonton parish church, London, and their first child Mary Eliza was born 24/06/1887 Marylebone and died 02/09/1888, just one week before Elizabeth was born. They moved back to Bishops Hull and went on to have 3 more children, Frank 29/04.1892, Edward 14/05/1894 and Laura (my grandmother) 09/01/1898 at which time her mother Laura Jane died.1901 census shows Herbert (widow) living with his own father John (widower), Elizabeth, Frank and Edward in Bishops Hull. Baby Laura is with Francis and Mary Gage (Laura Jane's brother & s-i-law). My problem now is the 1911 census has Herbert, Frank, Edward and Laura with him in Bishops Hull, I have been searching for Elizabeth now for over 10 years with out any hint of success so any help will be greatly received. If you check the 1911 census don't be confused by Herbert stating that his wife is Mary - they didn't marry until 1918. |

Well, 1911 shows that Herbert says only one of his 5 children have died, so Elizabeth should be somewhere |

The birth was in Marylebone. That isn’t in doubt. It’s what happened to her after 1901 that Beryl wants to know |
