Ada 1904 and John 1911, with John in 1911, were born outside mariage, as he wasn't married to Charlotte..
But so must Samuel 1904 and Minnie 1908 be (with Sarah in 1911) - unless John was flitting between two women.

As I said before, my guess is that John and Sarah's marriage had broken up by 1901, and then he took up with Charlotte Barrett - though didn't marry her.

No sign of a marriage.
Charlotte will just be listed as "wife" in 1911 for respectability, and because they were living together as husband and wife, with children.

Did John marry Charlotte or is this untrue as I can not find a marriage...!911 census.

I have these census's but the 1911 census threw it all out and yes the family in 1911 are his children not siblings , Thanks for clearing up Marion , with that being my mother's name , sounds right , was coming up as Magie but I thought Marie which is short for Marion, 1911 census has Elizabeth down as single and married , odd and James Murray has no Henry in his name as in 1911 census, bit of a mess...

Surely the relationships in 1911 are wrong?

John seems to made a bit of a mess of filling in the form.

Apart from the marriage details which have been scored out, it looks like Elizabeth has been listed twice - once as Eliza Ellen Banks, and again as Eliz'th Ellen Murray.

The Murrays have been added in darker ink than all the Banks names.


All the children listed as brother or sister, are actually sons and daughters.

John Banks born in Magull Liverpool 1864 ,I always believed and it may be so he married to Sarah Ann Dutton wed in 17th Aug 1883 until I came across 1911 census and he is living with Mea Charlotte ? with name Banks saying he has been married to her 28 yrs which is 1883 ? His parents Robert Banks and Ellen Rothwell ...Sarah died if I am correct in 1901 so did they just put down married for that length ? I know 1911 census is correct ans My nan John's Daughter Elizabeth Murray is on there married to my granddad James Murray , do not know why he has Henry in front of his name as it is not correct. :-S
