I've just found out a little about one of my uncles Harold Petrie 1907 Manchester Apparently his parents were James E Petry 1875 and Sarah Ann Oldham
James Parents were John A Petry & Sarah E Hind they married in Manchester 1863 the address on the marriage is Travis St,

John Anthony Petry 24 Bach Moulder Travis St Father John Jacob Petry a Veterinary surgeon

Apparently John Anthony was born in PreuBen Stiephouisen Prussia/Germany
I've come to a stop
Can anyone find Travis st in 1861 He possibly isn't living there but it will give me some thing to work from

Searching for Travis St Manchester on 1861 census produces 1365 names

You have no house number, so not much hope of finding anything

Must have been a long Street

On the marriage the witnesses are John Petry and Miriam Petry ?

I did see on one of the sites a birth and parents were John& Miriam Petry 25 March 1864/55 not sure what site it wasI googled John Joseph Petry Veterinary surgeon 1861 Manchester ? thats all I can remember.

Yes your right used to writing Joseph not had a lot of Jacob

As John Petry & Miriam were witnesses at john A Petry & Sarah Hind's wedding
and that they seem to come from prussia/Germany I've put them as cousins ?? their fathers are James and John Jacob
