	Hi I am looking for the above gentleman who was my 5th G Grandfather born 1666 and died after 1721 His parents were Edward Swann and Anne Cottam and one of his children was also Thomas Swann 1717-1768. 2 other children were Anne and Elizabeth. What I cannot find is who his wife was. Someone on Ancestry has her as Anne Davenport but I cannot find anything about this. Any help given on this would be great. Best wishes Margaret

	ps. I have a tree on Ancestry, access to findmypast and look at IGI.

	I think you will need to visit Derbyshire County Records Office when they open as this is too early for most records to be online. Kath. x

In both instances Father Thomas, no Mother showing - not unusual that far back. Member Since: July 2005 Posts: 10,663 Send Message	Kath - baptisms posted to show Father Thomas but no Mother's name showing to help - Margaret is looking for Thomas' wife, so she may have shown on their children's baptismal records. As I understand it the children were Thomas 1717 and also Anne and Elizabeth. Only Thomas Swann (or variants) marriages in right sort of time frame 1700 +/- 20 years are - Thomas SWAIN 29 Apr 1702 to a Mary Wheatcroft at Crich or Thomas Swan 5 Mar 1716 at Wirksworth to Maria Seeds Margaret - have a look at Derek's thread https://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1191073 Not been used for a while but he's probably still around either via the thread or if no response try sending a PM
