Please can anyone help,

A while back someone on GENES REUNITED informed me of a marriage between JAMES HILL and ELIZABETH BESWICK on 17 June 1932 as being the parents of RICHARD HILL who was married to Maria WARING,

But I belong to a CARERS group . Who meet once a month before the virus. and they use ANCESTRY, and whilst on there I was tracing the HILL surname and came across Richard HILL married to WARING. but 7 or 8 people had matching trees and they had

WILLIAM HILL married to MARGARET HARRINGTON married 20 Jan 1839

Can anyone please help me so that I do not trace the wrong line

How do you link two marriages which are more than a century apart?

Ignore trees on Ancestry unless they have documents to back up their info

yet 1911 where richard was lving with the waring family gives his age as 50 born 1861 and maria as 37 so quite a gap in age
