Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on finding details of this man - Leighton Anderson. I have the details below from the 1861-1891 census but cannot find any record of him for his birth or death (looked in familysearch, scotlandspeople, ancestry). His parents listed on the census are Alexander Anderson and Helen Cowan or Conan. I know he had a younger brother Walter and may have had older brothers James and John. Many thanks for your help.

Thanks, yes I think that death is correct. I must have missed that one.
I have purchased the death certificate and it confirms Leighton Anderson's father was Alexander Anderson. It says his mother was Helen Clarke whose maiden name was Helen Cowan and that he was born in 1852.

That record of Walter Anderson is correct. His birth record says he was born to Alexander Anderson and Helen Cowan.

A few trees have Leighton and Walter with older brothers James Anderson (1847) and John Anderson (1850).

I have yet to find birth rcords for James, John and Leighton

Civil registration in Scotland didn’t start until 1855.

Discount trees whose info you can’t verify yourself.

This may be where John and James come from.
