Is there a way of finding out where someone lived in the 60`s and 70`s in Scotland, who with and what children if any. I believe I have found out the identity of my biological father (now deceased) and I`d like to find out more about him. I have no-one to ask..Thanks |

If you don't know where he lived, then I'm afraid the answer is "No". |

Thank you for replying ArgyllGran, I only know his name and the year he died from ScotlandsPeople and the R/D....Glasgow. Even if I knew enough to get a death certificate they are not being issued at the moment. Thanks again |

Just seen I`d have to pay to see electoral roll on Ancestry, everybody always wants money I haven`t got! |

If he died in the 1970s, which seems to be what you're implying, then access to Ancestry won't help, as the Glasgow ERs there only go up to 1962. |

On the other hand, if he lived in Glasgow up to 1962, we might be able to find him for you on the ER at that time, if you care to give us his name - assuming it's not too common a name, and assuming he was eligible to vote. |

ArgyllGran Thank you so much for all your help. His name is Frank Ray, he died aged 50 in 1976, Glasgow, Martha St. I think he was probably around 1962 because a match for a half sister came up for me on MyHeritage, she was born 1961. She hasn`t logged in since last year so hasn`t responded to my message |

If Frank or Francis was his birth first name, he wasn't born in Scotland. |

As far as the Glasgow ER is concerned, there are no Frank Rays there in the 1960's. |

Maybe he changed his name from a Polish (?) one to something more easily pronounced and spelled - if his father's name was also Polish. |

A Frank Ray (x2) married in Glasgow 1966 (Father and son married same day ??) |

Sorry, having reread your replies I can see I`ve repeated what you already stated. There is one thing I don`t understand. On SP there are two Anna Maureen (deceased) names, two different surnames names, both the same year 1966 married to Frank Ray, the surnames fit in with the scant family tree. Robertson, Lutfi and a Wladyslaw Rudowicz also 1966 to Frank Ray and all the same reference number. Hope you understand my reply. So that`s all 3 same reference number, same year and married to Frank Ray all listed one after the other. I found that really confusing |

Yes he was born 1926 but his daughter is only 6 years younger than me, yes same father obviously not same mother, all the dates fit that he was my dad, my mum was born 1933. Thank you for everything ArgyllGran, I really appreciated your input |
