I have a friend who isn’t too good on computers who is trying to find her birth family.
She was born in 1946 in Hackney to Cicely Elfrida Deller (1921) who was unmarried.
Cicely lived in Coulsdon and very soon after the birth my friend, who was named Barbara by her birth mother, was adopted by a Mr and Mrs Rackham.
Cicely sent at least one letter to the family, thanking them for giving Barbara a home and for keeping her birth name.
In 1947 Cicely emigrated to USA and her passenger details state that her I tended address was in Cleveland Ohio: she apparently lived there for several years.
At some point between 1947 and 1948 she married Charles Mazur and became a citizen of USA in 1951: she died in Ohio in 2002.
Barbara would just like to try to find out a bit more about her Mum’s life in the States. I’ve been able to help her build her tree going back through the Deller (and Skeates etc) lines but can’t find much else about Cicely or Charles apart from the fact that Cicely returned to the UK for a visit in 1964.
I know Barbara would be grateful for any help......
