I have connections with Folly's with marriages to female Meads in 1771 and 1799. Newspapers report of a court case of William Meads aged 25, being convicted of assaulting and robbing Joseph Folly in Bisham, Berkshire on 4 Jan 1836, after both were affected by alcohol when leaving a benefit meeting in Marlow. After many hours searching I was expecting to find these persons connected to my ancestors, by without success. A possible clue is a marriage on 11 Apr 1831 in Marlow of William Meads to Elizabeth Corby. In the 1841 census William is missing! A record shows a William Meads conviction at a Berks assizes of possibly this offence and sentenced to death! Commuted to 1 years imprisonment. My ancestor's around that time are Thomas Meads1757, married to Hannah Church1758 in 1778 in Cookham. So I wonder if anyone can find a connection to my 'tree' as I have connections with Folly's in both Bisham, Cookham and Meads in Marlow.

Thank you Malyon, ErikaH, Chris Ho and Maddie, for the extra information. I had not done much searching of the Folly's, so it looks like Joseph is the son of James and Martha (Meads) Folly. I just had their marriage details. Will also look into William's information from this column.
Terence Meads.
