Hi there - My ancestor David born 25/1/1924 in Newcastle Upon Tyne emigrated in 1951 from Tilbury London on board TSS Moolton and arrived in Brisbane Australia 5/7/1951. I have no more info - has anyone any suggestions as to where I would find any leads - they were sponsored in those days & according to his last occupation in UK (farmworker) I would guess he would be employed as an agricultural worker. Looking forward to your help |

Hi ...the 'QLD State Library' (on-line) has an 'Ask a Librarian' service. They will check electoral rolls (past & present) for David. (compulsory voting here -we ALL have to be 'on the rolls' -from 2yrs after arrival.) |

Hi Shirley - Thanks a lot, I don't know that the H stands for but I asked Mam and she thinks it could be H for Hutchinson which was his fathers birth surname. |

I imagine someone informed the 1939 register people that he had died. |

I can’t Argyll because his death wasn’t registered at the British consulate so can’t get a copy of any death cert |

Hi Valerie - The Qld State Lib has replied & they can't find him on any electoral role - she did try a few indexes & newspapers - a very helpful service. |
