Joseph Moulds born 1750, baptised Little Ponton Lincolnshire. Buried Great Ponton Lincolnshire 1794. Baptisms for 3 sons found at Great Ponton with mother's name Sarah. She married again in 1803 to Richard Green, I have that marriage, but have been unable to establish where and when she married Joseph Moulds. The baptism of the oldest child was in 1778. Can anyone locate the missing marriage and thus identify her maiden name? |

Sorry, slip of the finger on my part re marriage year for Sarah's second marriage. This is one of the few Lincolnshire marriages within my tree I haven't found so far. |

Thanks greyghost, I've perhaps been a bit blinkered here and not thought of looking across the border into Leicestershire. Slap on wrist to self as I do have other marriages that are Linc/Leics. I think your suggestion warrants further investigation. |

Have done a bit more digging. First child I have for Joseph & Sarah was bapt Dec 1778, the marriage found by greyghost is Jan 1778. I can find no trace of any baptisms for Joseph & Sarah anywhere nearer to Wymondham than Great Ponton. There is a batch south of Leicester. I have a burial for Sarah in May 1838 that has an age at death of 85, which is quite close. Now looking for anything else that might add weight to this being the right marriage. |
