Find Ancestors

I am looking to find the whereabouts of Emma Bevan born 1857 St Lukes Middlesex. She married married Henry Charles Oakes in 1883 in Tower Hamlets . On banns of marriage it has her father as Robert who is deceased and was a gas porter. One of the witnesses was Annie Bevan. i can only find Emma on the 1881 census and would like to know where she was before that. please. Thank you.
