And to find a War casualty, the CWGC site is FREE

ErikaH posted his birth reg as found on Freebmd (17:56) It shows that his middle name was Overend.

The following is a different format from GRO which also gives mothers maiden name

There’s an Isabel HORNBY listed with them on the 1901 census (see EricaH’s post @ 1800)

His birth dates seem to change I have this census 1901 aged 3 months 1901
so that puts his birth 1901 or Dec 1900

The registration of birth March 1901 I suppose if he was born Dec 1900 but not registered until Jan 1901?

I have seen the 1939 census and it matches with a marriage 1926 in Selby Yorkshire but with it only having John O Baker does the O stand for Overend or Oscar?

I don't know if he survived the war that's why I thought it would be a good place to start but each one I go on you have to join
