I would suggest that the 1841 found by safc where Thomas is a butcher, is Thomas and Elizabeth Foss.

You are trying to tie in to ancestry DNA matches, but they had a number of children & you'd need to follow them all and their descendants to see where the connection lies.

Have you tried uploading your ancestry DNA to other sites (eg ftdna or my heritage) both of these accept uploads, and sometimes come up with more matches than ancestry.

National archives may also confirm marine - there is this & another couple of records which when you look at the info confirms it as a list of marines.
