Finished my "roll" for the moment, Dea - have to go out!
Oh, but just before I do -
There's always the possibility that this is William's baptism, rather than the 1771 one I posted above, if the 1841 census was way out on age, in which case this would make William Christopher's brother ?? But just conjecture and grasping at straws.

If this is your Christopher, he's presumably related, though not the same immediate family - but of course it's just a possibility that this is the man you're looking for.

You seem to be 'on a roll' A.G. - I will take a break and return later.
Just wanted to point out though that there is no such place as 'Lane' in Lancashire - what the 1911 actually says for Susan's place of birth is 'Lanc. (short for Lancashire), Blackpool"

How do you know he was born in Lane, Blackpool area? Have you found him in censuses ?
I think you need to get John & Susan's marriage cert to see what his father's name was, which might help to trace John before his marriage.
There's no John Brewer c1883 showing up on any census that I can see , with birth in Blackpool, although there are several in Lancashire.
But he may not have been born in Lancashire - unless you have proof otherwise?
EDIT: Have just seen Dea's post above, posted at virtually the same time as mine, showing parents and birthplace.

He joined the Navy in January 1915 and was away 'fighting the war' pretty much until it ended in 1919 when he seems to have gone into the Naval Reserve.

SilviaCanada for your sad story Sorry R.I,P hears another one That John Richard Goodwin Brewer was killed on H.M.S. Fife 1940 and is on the Memorial at Lowestoft The wife and I went to Great Yarmouth and caught a bus and payed our respects Thanks again for your help. If your bored have a look at The Battle of Trafalger crew list for Christopher Brewer b. 1775 He was on H.M.S. Minotaur and did The Nile and Copenhagen as well. Then if you go on Google and look at the Old H.M.S. Minotaur there a very sad story on there about what happened on it's way back. ..

There is a 4 year gap between George and Lewis. I wonder if mother had a still-born child during that time?? That child would not be registered either as born or died, but to her it would count as the 6th child, and Lewis as the 7th child. Giving Lewis the middle name Septimus would be one way of recognising that there had been a child who died.
We have something similar in OH's ancestors. His gt gt grandfather and grandmother had 20 children, although all descendants have a story that there were 21 children born .......... with number 20 dying and another child born after that to make "20 twice" (the family joke!!!).
I can find no trace of 21 children being born, and no sign in the Parish Register of burial. There is a gap of 27 months between number 19 and number 20 children.
There is a hint however that there might be some truth to the family story in that child number 20 has a forename that is sometimes seen as the Latin for 21, and also has 2 other forenames ......... no previous child had more than one forename.
My suspicion is that mother had a late miscarriage or maybe even a still birth in between. I tend to be against a still birth however, as they were a quite wealthy family, well-known in the area, and it is known that many midwives would swear that a baby took 2 breaths before dying and then they would do an emergency "citizen baptism" that would allow the child to be buried in the church yard ........... in which case there would be a record in the Parish Register.
