Find Ancestors

I need some help with finding out the family connections for my wife’s great grandmother. I know she was born in 1880 or 1881, and I think she was born in Liverpool. There is another lady with the same name born at around the same time so I’m a bit confused. My wife says,
Constance married my great grandfather but that too is confusing. My post of Nancy Kenny/ Caless refers to my great grandfather, John Henry Caless (20/10/1862-June 1950), who married Nancy before he married Constance.
According to records John and Constance married January 1915, but on the 1911 census they say they married in 1904 ( their 3 children were all born before 1915).
I can’t find very much about their marriage, nor who Constance parents were. Without a reference number I’m not sure if I can get the marriage certificate so I’m hoping for some help and advice from you experts who have given me great help previously.

That’s the post. How did you find a reference number, because I just mentioned the people because I couldn’t see any ref no?

So in answer to the question Shirley, they did “marry” in Jan 1915, but I don’t think John and Nancy ever divorced, because on the marriage certificate he says he’s a widower.

Glyn, I just put "Caless" in the 'quick search' in menu on left of page and scrolled down till I saw the thread.

You can find any threads you have posted by clicking on 'my threads' under 'Tools' at left of page.

I think it’s James Brocklebank Davies the same one as you found, but on the marriage certificate ( which I have now found!!) it says he’s a chemist not accountant, which is a bit odd. That’s why I wondered about the other Constance Evelyn Davies, but Brocklebank as a middle name seems unusual

On the other point, I’m not sure how you can find out if people back then were divorced. As both John and Nancy say they’re widowed, I’m assuming they didn’t divorce. Would you agree?

Divorce was very expensive back then, and so not an option for many. Quite possibly they did not divorce.

James brocklebank Davies died 1891 so it's possible Constance did not remember or know his occupation when she married?
