Its ok Rambling...William was away in the army by 61..Thats why I thought ide ask for emma on the 1861 census..as she has dissapeard Not unless the death in Manchester December quarter of 1858 is her

I looked at that but it's not her as on the GRO it gives age at death BARBER, EMMA 0

Nor either of the 2 in 1864, both babes.

Yes Jane Reynolds (my 3x great nan was married three times: 1st marriage to:George Lewis in 1864,Manchester...2nd Marriage to John Henshall at the register office in Rochdale in 1875 Then to William Barber in 1882 in Salford....I never knew if George Lewis died or they just separated..John henshall on the other hand did die( I am aware of this)
jane and Willian Barber..Must have just seperated as she states she is a widow on 1881 census...(But she isn't as William is still alive and kicking :-D

Maddie I am going with that 1841 census you posted...Could it be that Mary is a widow ? I can't remember if I asked for a 1851 census Re: Emma ..If I did I will check past queries

Look for the deaths yourself on freebmd, then cross-refer with the GRO site for ages at death

You say they were living on London Road, Salford in 1841.

They were actually living in Pump Street, Manchester, per the census image.

However, I don't see any deaths of an Ann Barber in Manchester or Salford, 1841-51, and none of the John Barbers who died in Manchester or Salford 1841-51 are of an age to fit with the age on the 1841 census.

Can't see them yet in 1851.
