Does anyone know if crofters evicted from Ross and Cromarty late 18C and 19C could have found their way to Northern Ireland? I assume there would have been no formal records kept?. I understand that many Scots also emigrated to America and Australia and wonder how they would have been assisted in travelling as they would have no assets/money, etc. |
