Can anyone find any trace of George Perkins? He was baptised in 1821 in North Rauceby, Lincolnshire, his parents being Richard Perkins and Mary Bush. He is not listed with his parents on the 1841 census and I cannot so far find him elsewhere in 1841, nor on the 1851 census. However, his sister Elizabeth married in 1844, was widowed in 1847 and married again in 1849. Both marriages were at Rauceby and George signed as a witness in both cases. These are the only references to George I can find. I would grateful for any help in tracking him down. |

The Spalding census entry is for a druggist which doesn't seem to fit. As has already been pointed out the George Perkins death in1863 is an infant (nephew of George in fact). |

His father Richard was only an agricultural labourer - but otherwise is there any reason to think George might not have become a druggist, if he was lucky enough to be apprenticed to John Hall? |

Granted the signatures at the weddings indicate that George was literate, my thinking was that a druggist would need a more than average level of education. |

The George who witnessed Elizabeth's marriages is not necessarily her brother. |

I've been doing quite a bit of research on this branch and haven't come across another George. In moving to North Rauceby Richard Perkins, father of George, has moved a little way away from the family base. I don't feel it's unreasonable to conclude that the George who signed as a witness at Elizabeth's weddings is likely to be her brother. |
