You can only get a "closed record" opened on the 1939 register if you have a death certificate and submit it to Findmypast. |

If you look on https://www.freebmd.org.uk, there appears to be 3 children born to Robert and his wife. A daughter in 1935 and 2 sons, 1937 and 1942. |

Norman also married a Harriet which makes it confusing . That's interesting . So,Norman born 1922, 2nd Feb, living with coquet avenue in 1939,with Harriet and his grandmother ?other two household member blanked out , rumour had it he was mixed race, no proof of this as yet, lots of living family who have no info, his wife still living but has dementia ??, Norman died in 1992 |

Robert's birth certificate would give you his parent's names (or at least his mother's name if father not known). :- |

Ah I see he was born 22 Feb 1922. If he was born whilst his mother was unmarried, you may never find out who his father was. |

Norman, son of Harriet griffin, grandson of Charles William and Catherine griffin, no father in birth certificate, no further findings, another grandson, Robert Lether Griffin, born 2010. At same address , maxwell street with all griffin family members, no clues as to his parents , found a margarite griffin and Robert lether griffin , with son Robert lether griffin, no further findings , any help appreciated . |
