Find Ancestors

Trying to find my Gran`s death record...Harriet Stones born Nottingham 1882 married to Joseph Fowkes in 1903 in Nottingham.
After his death she married again in 1934 to William Taylor in Nottingham.
My sister thinks she died in the city hospital Nottingham and was put in a poorper`s grave.
Looked on family search and ancestry when it was a free day but still not luck.
Looked under Stones/Fowkes/Taylor.

There's several deaths on freebmd but you would need to calculate whether the ages equate to an 1882 birth year

Realised as soon as I found it was" of course " as I was a London evacuee with my elder brother and sister and her record is open at our foster parents address in Kent . She died in 2001 and her record is opened as well as auntie and uncle

Brothers is closed .he lived next door, he passed in 2001 but was living in Spain so his death won't be picked up

We were evacuated in sept 1939

Mine is still closed thank goodness lol !!!

I think it is Harriet Taylor age 80 vol 3c page 337 in 1964.This seems to be the right date to me.
So do i get the death cert first or look for the grave or cemetery.

I have a photo of her in 1959.

Maybe best to get the cert first, to be sure you have the right one.

So you know her death will be after 1959

That death you think could be her is two years out as she was born 1882 so would be 82 not 80

But maybe the informant didn't know her correct age

The only way is to get the cert to see if it ties up with her .maybe the informant was family

If the 1939 register posted earlier is her then the one with mmn Mayo would look to be correct

There is also a Nottingham death aged 84 in 1968 and in 1972 with a birthdate of
6 January but 1885.

You can buy credit in multiples of £5 and using the advanced search can home in on Nottinghamshire, although there's not that many 1964-1972 to look through. Remember to look for Harriet and Harriett.

Hopefully you'll home in on the right one within 2 strikes. There are 2 cremation register scans at £2 each to look at the details and a burial at £1.50
