I have been trying to find the parents of Robert Hindhaugh B.1768 Ellingham, Northumberland, but to date have found nothing, I know he married Mary Dixon in 1793 and had three children but I still have not been able to find his parents. Help Please.

You could get in touch with the Northumberland County Record Office at Woodhorn, Ashington. A lot of people in Northumberland were non-conformist at that time and the record office has a lot of the non-conformist records transcribed so they may be able to find a baptism for him which should give at least his father's full name and possibly his mother's (possibly only her first name).

I spent a whole afternoon looking for my husband's great grandfather's baptism in parish records at the record office only to be told as we were leaving about the transcribed non-conformist records. The archivist found the baptism in about 3 minutes flat!!
