To the best of my knowledge, he was born 1839, going by the census's and the death cert states date of death 31 Jul 1891, aged 52. |

I know I am probably not going to get a firm date of birth for Lewis Jones, I have got 3 cousins also searching for him, and we are not getting anywhere, but would it be possible for you to have a quick look for me for a possible baptism record for Eunice, I have the other 3 sisters birth certificates, and baptism records, and I will order Eunice's birth certificate if necessary, just to complete my records. I have searched under Eunice and Unice, and for her Mother Eleanor Humphreys I have also searched for Elenour and Ellen, as she was sometimes known. |

I know this thread regarding my Great Grandfather Lewis Jones (1839 Llancynfelin) has been going on for a while, but I think I have now found a sister for him. A Margaret Jones, baptised 4 Nov 1840, at Llancynfelyn, Cardigan, Wales. Same place Lewis was born. Parents are stated as John and Elizabeth Jones, same as Lewis's. |

I know he was married to Eleanor Humphreys, and Ruth Evans before that, I have both marriage certificates, but its his birth record and first marriage that I just cant prove. Its been the biggest brick wall I have ever had. |

Interesting you should find that one, because I was just searching for all the siblings of John and Elizabeth Jones, and what came up for Lewis Jones (if he is the one) was Lewis Jones, baptised 15th April 1838, illegitimate son of Enoch Lewis Shoemaker, and Elizabeth Jones, and Elizabeth's abode is Trerddole. |

Possibly took both surnames to make it Lewis Jones. If he was illegitimate. |

When I first started looking I thought the occupation of Hatter was rare, but from browsing the census's it is quite a common occupation. |
