2 sons, 1946 & 1948 (think the eldest died in 1969, Maidstone Kent, but could be wrong.

Originally I thought Sylvia married again in 1978, Tonbridge Kent, to a Roy E Charles. Her entry on 1939 register throws that in doubt.

Any help please?

Looking at the image of the 1939 register entry, the name Ushaw has been scored out, as if it had been a mistake instead of a change of name.

But I may be misinterpreting it.

I'm with AG in thinking the Ushaw is a mistake.

The original has Blogg Sylvia W written in black ink

Then Blogg crossed out in blue and Locke written above in blue with a date in the margin of 20.11.44 CMG M/IC

Later in green, the initial B has been added along with the USHAW which is crossed through and LOCKE written in. Lots of annotations in the margin - a date of 11.12.63 2Med TE and 20.5.?71 with initials and letters ? CB287 KC

also in green in the Schedule column (maybe no room left in margin) PLY 161264 and CB282 - again in green

Thank you all. The possible error is certainly something to consider. Its a pity we don't know what the margin initials mean.

Does everyone think the 1978 Locke/Charles marriage posted by Malyon is possible? I haven't come any other Sylvia W B Locke who might fit the criteria.

Neither can I find a death for her which might fit. It's always possible that her entry has been opened in error.

Her father's name will be on the marriage cert

Yes, I'd also found the remarriage for Albert Locke, and his potential death. I think his much younger wife is still living.

I'm not confident that the Sylvia Locke entry on the ER refers to Sylvia W B nee Blogg. Unfortunately she is too distant to warrant the cost of her 2nd MC.
