This person married Eleanor Colenso in Barrow-in-Furness in 1918.On the 1911 census his parents are given as Joseph & Qannie,looking at image,it's clearly Annie.I can't find Joseph & Annies marriage,nor can I find them on any census's before then.I think I've got Charles on the 1901 census aged 6 as a boarder? If anyone could help with any info ?

Her EXACT DOB is on the 1939 register.On everything she's listed as born Barrow-in-Furness in 1893-there's no record of it.Checked every Eleanor-including McKay. Her mother-Catherine was from the Isle of Man,so checked there as well.Checked all over the UK for her birth & still can't find it?

Catherine was born Isle of Man. Wonder if Eleanor was born there too and isn't George's natural daughter

One important thing to remember about censuses is that the stated relationship of each individual is only to the HEAD of the household.

You can't assume that his wife is the mother of all or any of the children recorded on the census.

Always look at all of the info, particularly in 1911, where extra details (years married being one of them) are given.
