The witnesses to the marriage were J Knight and Anne Reeve - but their names pop up as witnesses to various other marriages in that church on other dates, so I don't think they're relatives of Henry or Martha.

Who were the witnesses when Henry married Martha Mary?.
I see that when Martha Mary Finch married as a widow, her father is named as Moses Hickman, a carpenter. I wonder if Henry was perhaps his apprentice or at least worked along side Moses
Is this the correct Mary Martha? Could this be Henry's home area too?

This is the death mentioned by Marcus:
FINCH, HENRY 67 GRO Reference: 1849 D Quarter in STEPNEY Volume 02 Page 390
So Henry may have been born 1782 if death informant was correct, or 1786 if we believe the census (which we probably don't), or any year round about then.
And not born in Middlesex - which leaves a lot of options!

'Of the parish' means resident there for the required period of time prior to the marriage
In 1841, does it say 'born in county'?

Looking for Henry Finch b about 1782. (Died 1849 Stepney).
On 1841 Census he says he was a Carpenter.
Married a Martha Mary Hickman (Both of the parish & both single!) on 28th August, 1814 at Christchurch, Greyfriars, London.
If they were both 'Of this parish' does this mean that they were born / baptised there (ie the family were in the area) or just living in the parish for the purpose of marriage?
I am trying to find his parents & possible siblings. Henry & Martha had 6 children -
Harriet b1815 Bapt St Margaret, Westminster, Henry b 1818 also bapt at St Margaret, Westminster, Sarah b 1822 Bapt St. Matthew, Bethnal Green, Elizabeth b1827, Susannah b1829 & Anne b 1831. Last 3 all bapt at St George in the East.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.....
