There is this one living with his brother's family who is in Durham in the 1891 census and he's a coalminer. He is only about 7 or 8 miles from Spennymoor:- |

The marriage cert would normally give you the name and occupation of his father, but John Riley is a very common name. |

In my husband's family tree I have John Riley born around 1864/6 but I am not sure where. I have it as Ireland but I am not sure where I got this information.!! I do know he married Ellen McAdam in 1894. She came from Spennymoor and they had 9 children of which 3 died. I would like to look further into John Riley but as there are so many I don't know where to start. Any help I would be grateful. |
