Hi I have an Alice Caroline Watts b. 1901,ive found her on the 1911 census with her parents and siblings. She had a son Dennis Claude Saidalib. 1919, the father on the birth certificate says Harry Saidali... I cannot find a marriage for these two named people or even a birth for Harry Saidali.... I'm thinking maybe the baby was illegitimate and Alice just put fathers name on certificate and was never married.... Anyone got anything to help me please.. many thanks

There's also the birth of a Saidali/Lott son in West Ham in June qr 1939.

Also a daughter in West Ham 1941, and another son West Ham 1940 (mms for that one given as Nott, but is probably meant to be Lott).

Dennis married twice. His second marriage registration appears to show that he married with both the name Watts and Saidali as surnames

Although Dennis is reg as saidali as if they were married it would seem they weren’t

A tree on ancestry has harry born 1900 but there no record of him at all other than the name on the birth certificate

Dennis married young too and the cert may have some clues on both of his parents

Ancestry have a Saidali in the medal list.

I wonder if Harry was a name adopted by British colleagues.?
