Have come across a parish record for a marriage between Joseph Shower and Susanna Kirby on the bride it says minor would this be Under 21 can anyone help as it gives me a idea of her age. |

Yes it would. Technically they should have been given permission by their parents. |

Just for future information, if a minor marries and is then widowed and marries again before the age of 21 she does not need parental permission the second time. |

You could google to find legal age of marriage at the time that marriage took place............... |

The legal ages of 14 for boys and 12 for girls to marry with parental permission was apparently still in force right up to 1927 but very few took advantage of it. |
