Hi everyone, sorry this is a bit long winded!
I have siblings.........
Jane Milicent Masters in the England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538- Name: Jane Milicent Masters Gender: Female Birth Date: 3 Oct 1835 Baptism Date: 25 Oct 1835 Baptism Place: St Edmunds, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England Father: Thomas Masters Mother: Lydia (Young)
And.......
Thomas Masters in the England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 Name: Thomas Masters Gender: Male Birth Date: 24 Jul 1841 Baptism Date: 10 Jun 1842 Baptism Place: St. Edmunds, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England Father: Thomas Masters Mother: Lydia (Young)
Jane Milicent married Frederick Rigarlsford (Born 1837 Chelsea) in 1859
Here is Jane and Frederick on the 1871 census and brother Thomas, his wife Ellen and daughter Florence is with them.......
1871 England, Wales & Scotland Census Transcription Evelyn Terrace, Richmond, Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, England
Frederick Rigarlsford Head - Male 33 1838 - Middlesex, E (Cordwainer) Jane Rigarlsford Wife - Female 35 1836 - Wiltshire, Thomas Masters Visitor - Male 29 1842 - Wiltshire, (Servant) Married Ellen Masters Visitor - Female 27 1844 Ireland-- Married Florence Masters Visitor - Female 0 1871 - Middlesex,
I can't find a marriage for Thomas to an Ellen.
This is the Baptism record for daughter Florence.....
Florence Masters in the Surrey, England, Church of England Baptisms, 1813-1912. Mother: Ellen Masters
There is no birth registered for a Florence Masters in the 4th Quarter of 1871
But maybe....
??
MASTERS, FLORENCE MMN DIER GRO Reference: 1871 M Quarter in LAMBETH Volume 01D Page 387
If that is the correct birth reg.......i am not seeing a Masters/Dier/Dyer marriage.
Thomas died in 1875...Res: Evelyn Terrace.
I can't find any further information regarding Ellen and daughter Florence after that.
The only information i can find for a Jane Milicent Rigarlsford after the 1871 census, are Electoral Roll records in Canterbury, New Zealand.
I don't have WW subs for Ancestry or FMP......so i wonder if anyone who has, would kindly take a look at those records for me to see if they can discover if it is my Jane Milicent Rigarlsford.
Thank you......Prickles. :-)

Could the Masters/Dier marriage have taken place in Ireland?
Or was either of them already married to someone else?

Possibly Erika.
I am quite certain now that the Electoral Roll details for Jane in New Zealand is my Jane.
I found a death record for husband Frederick.....
16 Nov 1921 (aged 84) Christchurch, Christchurch City, Canterbury, New Zealand
It gives his birth date as 3rd Oct 1837......which is correct.

Maybe Ellen went back to Ireland after Thomas's death, taking Florence with her.
There are a few Ellen Masters marriages after Thomas's death in London area, but following through to later censuses - they're not her.

The 1891 census posted by Malyon is not the right family. For one thing, the mother's name is Lydia, not Ellen.
These are her children's births:

Sorry i didn't get back sooner.....unexpected visitors arrived.
Thank you for all the information so far.
I did wonder if perhaps Ellen and daughter Florence went to New Zealand with Jane and Frederick.
Thank you for the Funeral Notice Dea.
Frederick of Belfast? Odd because he was born in Chelsea.
