As well as freebmd as mentioned above, you can use
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/indexes_search.asp
to 1917. That's the same site where you should purchase certificates. The search function is free to use although you do have to register.

The advantage of the GRO site is that it will give middle names if the Freebmd version only gives an initial.

Have you checked the 1911 image? That should say how many children born alive to that marriage, how many still living & how many died. If they were born & died between census, GRO is a great finding tool.

You can use

www.freebmd.org.uk

If you put in husbands surname and wifes maiden name you should get a list of births. You can filter the results by area and dates. Mothers maiden name is on the rcords from 1911.

if you need help, give the names you have and prople here will have a look.

I am looking at my partners family. I have found 1911 census that shows the household as it was that day but I know there were more children after---can anyone suggest how i might find them--- this might be a very basic question to you but i am at a loss so any ideas would be welcomed
