Re the birth above for Ann Louisa - if her mother was married and had the maiden name Thomas, it would be recorded as such. No MMN means illegitimate |

The 1939 census was where I got Sarah's birthdate of 17th dec 1899, maybe that was not correct, and that could be why I can't find it. |

Yes, the writer of the census has written Birkenhead, but it looks to refer to John Waring, I would agree that Sarah was definately born in Maesteg, the actual writing on the census is a bit of a mess. |

That could be the one, the family were in and around Bridgend, and Louisa was also known as Ann, maybe Ann was her first Christian name. |
