Margaret- I think he was a seaman travelling to European ports from 1900 to 1922 (not 1902). |

The 1922 passport application also says he became a naturalised US citizen on 08/03/1900 at Norfolk, Virginia, and there's a photo of him.. |

On his passport application in 1922 he states that he first emigrated to US in November 1895, that he resided for 27 years in New York except for 1900-1902 when he was a seaman on vessels traveling to European ports. he's a marine engineer and is planning to visit Scotland for 3 months for his general health. He intends to leave US aboard the SS Cedric 17 June 1922. |

What I am trying to find out is who did John marry when he left Scotland and went to San Diego California USA, as on the web site of John senior's grave you can reply to it and a woman in the USA did saying she was also a gg granddaughter, so he must of married again in possibly the same area as the reply came from. |

John Married Catherine McTavish, he was 49 when he died and Catherine was 86. the following is the grave site, went to Scotland in May but could not locate grave site in the cemetery. |
