My dad was born in hackney in a salvation army mother and baby home. His birth certificate describes Mary as a domestic cook, her last address in Durham, this address was that of George and Adelaide. Mary Ann then disappears, I have found a Mary Ann in London living alone in 1939?
I traced George because my dad remembered visiting George and May Miller. He has a birthday card from uncle George and Aunty May from his 9th birthday.
Sadly dad has dementia so I can't ask questions now.

That's good that that info was available on his birth certificate
Wonder then if that is the right death that I posted
Who was dad brought up by . They must have had some info on his mums birth family for him to be able to visit
Wonder if her last address in Durham can be found on old electoral rolls

Help...
My dad Clive was born in Hackney in 1934. His mother was Mary Ann Pickering who came from Durham. Dad was adopted by Ettore and Ann Fugazza. As a child he was often taken to Durham, where he remembered visiting the Millers. He remembered the names George, Thomas and Betsy, in Chester le Street. I managed to find out that George Miller married Adelaide Pickering in 1920. I also found that Adelaide had a sister Mary Ann.
I have ordered George and Adelaide's marriage certificate, where George's father is listed as Robert Smith a boiler maker. Other witnesses appear to be Thomas Pickering, and someone who looks like Mary Pickering.
I have searched for a George Miller, and Robert Smith, but I am stuck, yet again. Any ideas, please??
