This might be my imagination working over time, but I've discovered that Samuel's first wife, Caroline Dewsbury, died from an abortion in April 1849. They already had nine children, the last being born 1847. In December Samuel married Caroline's sister. Do you think that it's possible Samuel could've been having an affair with Louisa while Caroline was still alive or do you think she'd just had enough of having kids? |

Thanks Austin. I got the information from her death certificate but that was all it said. Your explanation makes perfect sense ... I guess my imagination was just working overtime. |

I think my earlier suggestion that the sister moved into the house after Caroline's death to look after the children, and then the marriage followed .................. |
