I wondered if anyone could help find the birth and marriage of John Hewitt, his wife is my second cousin but I have no details about her.

John was the son of Vera Martin born 1913 New Zealand and Richard Claud Lifford Hewitt born 1889 Ireland

Were are they likely to have married? Do you at least have the wife's name?

My Ancestry DNA matched me with LH as a 2nd cousin (DNA managed by John Hewitt). so LH and I share the same great grandparents, neither have a family tree and not responding to contact.
From the Information above it appears Richard died whilst living in Ireland in 1973 and Vera Martin was his 2nd marriage ?

A tree on Ancestry says Richard married Vera (1913 West Ham - 2004) in 1940

I can't see a record of any such marriage, which was presumably in the UK, as the tree says she emigrated to NZ in 1947.

It says Richard's first marriage was :
03 Sep 1918 • Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India, St Michael and All Saints
to Josephine Cara Eileen Rogers (1897–1990)

Apparently that marriage ended in divorce.

The tree lists a son (Geoffrey Lionel Hewitt 1929 -2005 born Sambalpur, India) and a daughter from the first marriage, and a son and a daughter from the second - no names given, apart from Geoffrey.

No documentation is offered as proof of anything.

If the above is correct, it looks as if John was born in NZ?

No help with John's wife, but here's Richard going to India, apparently not for the first time:

There's a photo of the gravestone - says Lifford, not Clifford.

Also on the stone:

Vera Hewitt, 20.08.2004, aged 91. Loved wife of Dick. Loving mother of Hilda and John. Much loved granny of Richard, Jim, Claire and Leah


But as DetEcTive said, John's marriage will be too recent to be found online.

Perhaps the cemetery will have contact details for the family?

She and I are also linked to Norman Lynch my 4th cousin his parents were Thomas Lynch 1907 and Margaret May Robinson 1909 Wallasey, father Joseph Robinson 1875 Birkenhead

John William Tate 1852 married Harriet Robinson 1852 in Derbyshire in 1871 they had a daughter Luella Tate who married my grandfathers brother Robert Pickett in 1907 in Mitchigan USA.

I would appreciate help in finding a link between Margaret May Robinson and Harriet Robinson.

On the face of it, I don't see any link between Harriet (Derby) and Joseph (Birkenhead).

Following Joseph's parents back through the censuses, the family seem to have been always in the Leeds area.

And Harriet's parents were always in Derby area in all censuses and at birth.

If there's any link, it must be very far back, before censuses.

Thanks for the searches, my 4th cousin DNA match would mean we share great great great grandparents, in my family tree on the side that I was trying to create the link my ggg grandparent were born 1797 so you could be right in the link being prior census records... will keep looking, always appreciate your help.
