I am trying to help a village pal with her rellie above.

I have seen Lucy's marriage cert and she gives her Father as John Hargroves - iron worker.

I have Lucy in 1901 wife of Joseph Tennant, and two daughters Alice b 1891 and Mary Ann b.1901 and in 1911 still with Joseph living in West Brom. with daughter Mary Ann b. 1901 d. 1943.

Joseph Tennant died in 1918. Lucy remarried and died Lucy E Harries in Bedwellty 1946.

My first brick wall is finding Lucy prior to 1901.

Can anyone help please?

The second brick wall is what happened to the eldest daughter Alice A b. 1891 and shown on the 1901 census.

Due to historic difficulties in this family the history has become quite secretive over the decades.

Wow thanks so much, those 2 census records just didn't appear at all! Not the first time I have to say. Since the last lot of tinkering I personally have had problems with searches.

There is no link for Alice on Ancestry - and, as I said, no birth. You can verify that yourself on freebmd

And Lucy says she has had only one child, as I mentioned when posting the 1911

The1871 and 1881 came up instantly as links on Ancestry..............

You say Lucy re-married and died as Lucy E Harries in Bedwellty 1946.

I am not seeing a death registered for a Lucy E Harries in 1946.....but there is this one

Thanks for continuing to look.

Lucy had a difficult time with partners. It's her granddaughter I am helping.

There was a partner with the surname Jones but no marriage we are led to believe.

Hubby David J Harris, sorry about the spelling I often use the Welsh spelling in error
