Can anyone help me?

I have been contacted from Aus by someone who thinks we have a connection ,I am not sure he has the correct family but would like to help if possible

His grandfather James Higginbotham was a Royal Marine and was lost with the Prince of Wales on 10 Dec 1941,his father was only 2 at the time and so never knew him and he is havng difficulty finding out much.

I have found the following re James Higginbotham Marine from the website

Parents-Michael Higginbotham & Maggie Higginbotham
Gartgosh> Lanarkshire

It is the mothers maiden which would help - he (also a Michael H) thinks it was Margaret McArdle

Commonwealth War Graves site says wife's name was Julia.

Edit: Can't find a marriage of James Higginbotham to a Julia on FreeBMD.

A tree on Ancestry says that he was born 3 march 1917, Ireland and was married to Julia Greechan. He was son of Michael Higginbotham & Margaret McCardle.

Julia was a brick worker, spinster, of 72 Main St, Glenborg. Her father was Peter Greechan, coal miner, and her mother was Julia Ann Greechan M/S Linden ( I think, hard to read) deceased.

EDIT: I have mistranscribed, Glenborg is actually Glenboig. The marriage is listed as being in the District of New Monkland in Lanarkshire.

Bride was Maggie McArdle domestic servant, spinster, of 20, Lower English Buildings, Glasgow. Her father was John McArdle Iron Furnace man, and mother was Margaret McArdle, m/s Cusson or Cussan

Witnessa Malachi McArdle and Annie (?) Quinn.

Thank you folks - that is the tree for James H on Ancestry, but it is the part prior to James' birth in 1917 I am trying to sort out-the Ancestry tree does not add up and he (Michael in Oz) has incororated " my" McArdles into his tree making my gt grandmother Margaret Curran 9 when she married John McArdle and bearing children at 11. :-(
