It seems Joseph enlisted 24/2/1916. He was over the age limit, so he lied abt his age - possibly used a sibling's d.o.b.
His atestation papers show his n.o.k was his wife, Mrs Alice Sheward of 50 Lappin Ave, Toronto
[It's now abt 3km W of Univ of T's campus, just W of Dufferin and S of the Galleria on Dupont - it's also witness Ivy's addy on Evelyn's marr]

We want the SE corner of the twp - note concession #s 1-3 are duplicated.
The dividing line between the duplicates is the concession road running E from Priceville (actually ENE - check the compass rose in top-left of map)
On a modern map this concession rd is called "Durham Rd B"
This suggests the abbrev's "NDR" and "SDR" appearing in 1901 Sched 2 refer to North/South of the Durham (concesstion) Rd.

Looking at Priceville ON on https://www.google.ca/maps and using the satellite view, it's easy to see the land just E of Priceville is gridded by the concession and line rds into 2km squares (1.25m sqs)
Now 1 chain = 22 yards, 1 mile = 80 chains, 1 acre = 10 sq chains
Thus 1.25 miles = 100 chns, so the lots in the SE corner are 10 chns x 100 chns with area 1000 sq chns = 100 acres.
1901 Sched 2 says Joseph has 83 acres - presumably 2 side by side 50 acre lots with a chunk taken out by the lake
