Thanks for that Chris. I really need to go through the Winslow Registers as you say. Thanks for the link to the Winslow history site - I hadn't seen that before. Plenty to explore there.

Well you know that her father was William, occupation Blacksmith and as there are no others in the area at the same time I think you can say that, at least, you have the correct father.

Ann could well be the eldest daughter of William and Margaret Verney - just can't find any baptism records anywhere to confirm they are her parents. I have tracked Charles Goodman & Ann through to their deaths in Wandsworth.

Thanks for your help. I think she could be the FS in the Brooks household although on her marriage cert she is identified as a lace maker.

I think there may be a chance that Harriett and Hannah (from the 1841 census) could very well be the children of Mary Verney but would need to check that out.

Searching for Ann Verney who was bn around 1823 prob in Winslow, Bucks. Her father was William Verney, a backsmith. She married Charles Goodman in Winslow July 19th 1841. Unable to find Ann's baptism or her whereabouts in 1841 census. Is anyone else researching this family and able to point me in the right direction please.
