That 1911 census looks promising Prickles - right area as Mary claims to come from Kendal. |

Actually Nyx, that could really be a possibility for hubbies death. When Thomas married Margaret Jackson he named his father as Thomas (a labourer) but I've thought this a fabrication to save face - maybe not. If only they could be found 1881/91 - I've had no luck, but only have limited access these days to other sites. |

That's a possible Nyx, but on the CumbriaBMD index they record previous name if father has been named - and in this case there is no dual registration. This could be because she hasn't named her father though, but if she hasn't not sure how I could confirm this from a certificate. |

Hi Erika, no Milnthorpe isn't far - and Thomas had been recorded as born Millomroth on the 1911 census - which doesn't exist. I think you are onto something with that one, it looks very promising, thankyou. |

I just can't tie in Maria Clement with Mary Thompson - not seeing a birth for Maria to establish mmn either, to see if she was a Thompson? |

Yes, my thoughts as well Erica - there's just nothing to tie Maria to Mary that i can see at the moment. I can't find Maria's birth registration, although it may not have been registered, nor can I find a christening on familysearch. |
