I need to make enquiries in Ireland, has anyone any suggestions as to the best way to do this ie. where I need to begin

Not sure where you would begin in Ireland itself but Findmypast has some Irish records. What is it you need to know?

(Thomas Holland's arriving from Ireland all in the same time span ie. 1847 when John Denis was born in Ireland and 1853 when Thomas died in Middleton.)

(wife of Thomas was Ann 1861 and Nancy on 1871 Lancs.)

Yes Chris I sort of came to a blank when I started to look. Did not know where to begin.

KathleenBell - I need to know about Thomas Holland b.1815 Ireland. He married Ann they had two boys James and John Denis. John Denis was b. 1847 Ireland. They came to England after then and Thomas died 1853 Middleton. So it is posing a problem because it all happened between census. If I could find some connection in Ireland it would be a great help.

Things often come up on google search, if you know where in Ireland...

(as in websites for Family History help etc)
