We have no wayat present in identifying who William's parents were, except that his father was named john on his marriaage certificate and mary bowen's father was John Bowen. Mary Bowen's hospital records stated that she was from middlesex,London and also mentioned hertfordshire. her sister Harriett Trott had received a letter on the news of mary Butler's death from a neighbour, addressed to Watford, UK. We have since found John and catherine Bowen in census in watford. james trott mentioned ellen Eldridge, daughter of Caleb Bowen, in his will and also Lionel Bowen of Epping and Gertrude Occlee of nuneaton. |

Thank you to everyone for your responses. marriage certificate is not very informative. It just says was living 'on The Gilbert', river I presume, which ran through anstey & Giles Pastoral Leases near Riverton. married in Holy Trinity Anglican church at Riverton on 28 june 1858. A daughter , then son's birth certificate in Victoria, Australia, listed as a Miner, born at Birmingham and a 1936 Primary school essay stated william , 'He came from Birmingham at the age of 15 and landed in Sydney. As a young man he worked in various places and eventually was employed by George Penton, manager of Penton vale station [Yorke Peninsula, for Thomas Giles].He met his wife at Gilbert Station, which [also] belonged to anstey & Giles. After he married he went away to the Melbourne diggings.[Vaughan 1864 where William jnr born,, and Bald Hill 1861 where Harriett born , Victoria]. In about four years he returned, and was working on Gum Flat Station in 1864, as a boundary rider. In 1868 he lost his wife. He came down with the first mob of sheep to Gum Flat station [1847]. He died in january1881.' |

I wouldn't think that death was someone alive in 1841 - did you mean to suggest it connected with the baptism? |

His marraige certificate and two of his children's birth certificates state that Birmingham was either his birthplace or his last residence in UK, plus an essay written by ag-grandson in 1936 says this also. "He came from Birmingham to New South Wales as a lad of 15" |

If the tree is correct then I would suggest this for his family in 1841 |
